L5 LTS A – Active long-throw system
In the past, only large line arrays have been capable of projecting the entire frequency spectrum powerfully over 30 m and beyond – until now. The LINEAR 5 LTS A brings true long-throw characteristics to an ultra-compact format. For the user, this means fewer speaker components are required, thus saving valuable truck space. It also makes rigging and ground stacking much easier and faster. This makes the LINEAR 5 LTS A Long-Throw System not only the simplest, but also the most economical solution to achieve the best sound results for events with up to 3,000 people.
Whether it’s 30, 40 or 50 metres – the LINEAR 5 LTS A projects even sophisticated high-frequency signals to the very last row. This is made possible by the innovative Multicell Transformer (MCT), a completely new technology developed by HK Audio. This development achieves a drastic reduction of the distortion in the high-frequency range. This solves a key problem posed by previous horn and wave guide designs: the limitation of the usable sound pressure due to distortion. The LINEAR 5 LTS A is thus able to generate an exceptionally high maximum sound pressure level of 138 dB. In combination with the curved array effect created by the arrangement of the Multicells, this results in a marked range extension with precise coverage of the sound field with crystal-clear audio.
The Multicell Transformer technology makes it possible to design particularly compact speaker systems with outstanding handling characteristics. This new generation of the LINEAR 5 series is ultra-compact and lightweight with dimensions of 68 x 44 x 46 cm and a weight of just 26.4 kg. Yet it can easily replace speaker systems that are twice as large and much heavier: this means less truck space is taken up and rig installation is simplified. The classic, straightforward format of the LINEAR 5 LTS A makes ground stacking intuitive and straightforward. What’s more, practical head stacking and clustering capabilities make the LINEAR 5 LTS A the most flexible product in its sound class.
